People want to play it on Steam, but also don't want a lesser version. Nobody is trying to convince you to do this. They used to give away free Steam copies with every 18+ sale until massive fraud forced them to stop. They don't release paid patches for any of their censored games (the majority of which are only sold there) to up them to the uncensored version, they must hope for double sales.
